E-ABILITY 2004/5
Objectives:
- Identify and disseminate good practices in the promotion of
digital literacy aimed to people with psychological disability,
as specific target group.
- Provide to people with psychological disability digital literacy
essential skills needed to take an active part in the knowledge
society and the new media culture.
- Learn and transfer good practices in all Europe to reach an
European conscience of this local problem.
- Improve the quality of life of this collective, and improve
their opportunities to reach social and laboural inclusion.
- Influence in local and regional policies, informing them about
the importance of including people with psychological disability
in the design of e-learning policies.
Approach:
All the activities planned in this project are intended to identify
and disseminate local good examples promoting digital literacy,
and how they affect to a collective with very special needs: people
with psychological disability.
The specific types of activity planned to this project are:
- Create documentation of good case studies related with e-learning
and people with psychological disability.
- Create the European Ability Office of “E-inclusion for
people with psychological disability”.
- Celebrate Conferences in all partner’s cities, related
with “People with Psychological disability and digital divide”
- Celebrate three Transnational Meetings.
- Transfer the good case studies to local and regional public
entities. Also transfer to all partners and all their local and
regional public entities.
We define three different stages:
STAGE 1. DESIGN OF THE PLAN ACTION (Transnational
Meeting in Riga (Latvia),
STAGE 2. IDENTIFICATION OF LOCAL GOOD EXAMPLES
(Local studies of good examples and Transnational Meeting in Toro
(Spain)
STAGE 3. DISSEMINATION OF GOOD EXAMPLES (Design
of the “psycho-ability guide of e-Learning”, dissemination
of good examples at local level, dissemination at European level
and Transnational Meeting in Manchester (United Kingdom)
Results:
Quantitative results:
Good Case studies done and transferred (9), Conferences celebrated
(9), Transnational Meetings held (3), Dissemination actions done
(9) and Evaluations done (6). An European Ability Office of “E-inclusion
for people with psychological disability” (1). Reduction of
the digital divide in European users with psychological disability
(>20%). Future projects developed by the consortium in the framework
of the new “European Ability Office” (3).
Qualitative results:
- Correction of possible debilities of local policies that forgets
people with psychological disability in the e-learning programmes.
- Increasement of the quality of life of people with psychological
disability through learning how to use ICT skills.
- Give an European Dimension (transfer) of a common local problem.
- Another step to fight against the stigma against people with
psychological disability.
- Make all society sensitize about the usual problems that people
with psychological disability have to face every day.
